FORMER Newport County AFC striker Conor Washington is in the running for this season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Ultimate Finish award.

With a spectacular shortlist of ten goals made up of the five Ultimate Finish winners from each round and another five selected by a panel of judges, supporters now have the deciding vote on which goal will be named the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Ultimate Finish of the season.

Fans have the chance to watch the exclusive Ultimate Finish video (http://www.johnstonespainttrophy.com/competitions/ultimate-finish-season/) on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy website and vote for their favourite effort.

The player with the most votes will claim the coveted Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Ultimate Finish of the Season 2013/14 award, while one lucky fan selected at random from those who voted for the victor will win a Sony PlayStation 4 and FIFA 2014 game.

Washington's second goal in the 3-0 home win over Portsmouth back in November is amongst the goals vying for the top prize.

Also amongst the finalists are Washington's new teammates Britt Assombalonga and Grant McCann from champions Peterborough United while Jimmy Ryan flies the flag for runners-up Chesterfield.

The full list of nominations is: Goal A: Joe Bryan (Bristol City); Goal B: Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (Bristol City);

Goal C: Patrick Agyemang (Portsmouth); Goal D: Nicky Ajose (Swindon Town); Goal E: Conor Washington (Newport County); Goal F: Antoni Sarcevic (Fleetwood Town); Goal G: Conor McLaughlin (Fleetwood Town);

Goal H: Grant McCann (Peterborough United); Goal I: Jimmy Ryan (Chesterfield); Goal J: Britt Assombalonga (Peterborough United).

Votes must be cast by April 28 and the winner will be announced after that date.

“It’s been another fantastic season for goals in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and the list of nominations is testament to that,” said Ben Wilde, brand and sponsorship manager for Johnstone’s Paint.

“Supporters are in for a real treat when they watch the video but it’s going to be a very difficult choice to decide where to cast their vote.”

Through its sponsorship of the Football League Trophy, Johnstone’s Paint has been bringing colour to the beautiful game for the last eight seasons and will be backing the tournament again in 2014-15.
