FORMER Newport County AFC striker Jamal Easter will be in action as the Wales futsal squad play two international fixtures in Newport this weekend.

Easter, younger brother of full Wales football international Jermaine, played five matches for County under Dean Hioldsworth in 2008 and scored one goal for the Exiles.

He's now at Bridgend Town in the Welsh League but will represent Wales at the Wales National Veledrome this weekend.

The indoor stadium will be transformed into an international futsal arena for the two clashes with Andorra at 7pm on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.

Wales faced Andorra only 12 months ago again on home soil in Newport, losing a close encounter 5-4.

It was bitterly disappointing for the Welsh Dragons and they will be eager to seek revenge for the defeat and put on an excellent performance in front of the home crowd this weekend.

Visitors Andorra themselves are preparing for their ninth appearance in the UEFA Futsal European championships with Wales only making their debut in the competition two years ago. Wales are currently ranked 85th in the world with Andorra currently sitting 69th.

After an exciting and dominant winning performance against Greece, who are 52nd in the world rankings, Wales will be full of confidence and looking to build ready for the main event in January.

Wales will travel to Montenegro in the new year to face Finland, Montenegro and Cyprus in Group B of the UEFA Futsal EURO preliminary qualifiers.

Admission is free today and tomorrow with entertainment and refreshments available to create a fantastic family atmosphere to cheer on the young Welsh Dragons.
