THE transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday night and Newport County AFC manager Warren Feeney says there could be more incomings and outgoings at Rodney Parade, writes Andrew Penman.

So far this month, County have signed Mitchell Beeney, Ben Davies, Connor Dymond, Deane Smalley and Conor Wilkinson on loan and also added free agents Darren Jones and John-Christophe Ayina.

And the Exiles have sold teenager Aaron Collins to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Following Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient, Feeney said: “If we put in performances like that we’ll climb the league.

“We’ve got quality players in there and I am hoping to bring more in.

“It might be difficult because it is a hard window to bring players in.

“A lot of teams challenging don’t want to let their best players go and want to keep their squad together but we will try.

“If there’s good players out there who I think will strengthen us I’ll certainly be on the phone to them.

“There could be players leaving as well,” he added. “That is part and parcel of football – players come in and players go.”

Feeney suggested that there are some members of his squad he would like to move on if he can.

“I think sometimes footballers these days some of them don’t want to go and play football,” he said.

“But I can’t force people to go and play.”
