NEWPORT County AFC are pulling out all the stops for their money-spinning FA Cup fourth round glamour tie against Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur.

The demand for tickets to see the Rodney Parade clash next Saturday is so great that the Exiles want to install an additional 1,000 seats behind the North Terrace.

If this gets the green light then, along with the already extended seating at the opposite end of the ground, the capacity would reach around 10,000 for one of County’s biggest games ever.

Interest in the eagerly-awaited encounter, which comes 58 years after the sides last met, has seen the hosts receive more than 1,500 hospitality requests.

Meanwhile, ticket prices have been revealed and range from as much as £37 for adult 100 Club members to just £5 for children under the age of six.

The club say prices “have been set in conjunction with Tottenham Hotspur and are reflective of the tie and additional resourcing and infrastructure costs which are associated to the match”.

Spurs will be allocated 1,660 tickets split between the Bisley Stand and Purevans.com Stand – this increased allocation is due to the erection of a 600-seat temporary stand.

Tickets go on sale to Exiles fans on Thursday, with season ticket holders, trust members and shareholders the first to get their hands on the prized possessions.

The club does not foresee any tickets going on general sale because of the expected high take-up by priority customers.

But for some former County players there is an opportunity to go to the game, as those who have represented the club 40 times or more will be entitled to buy a ticket during the first sales period.
