NEWPORT County's walking-wounded secured a point against Welling in a drub encounter at Spytty Park.

Five Exiles players were struck down by flu in midweek and the players looked jaded after their late heroics at Weston on Monday.

Exiles striker Craig Reid was denied late on as County finished the match strongly.

Former County defender Paul Cochlin was an interested observer at Spytty Park.

The Argus understands that giant defender, who is transfer-listed at Bath City following the change in management at Twerton Park, could be set for a return to Newport.

Should the player be able to negotiate his release from the west country outfit then boss Dean Holdsworth and the player himself are keen on reuniting.

Full report, reaction and latest on Paul Cochlin in Monday's Argus Sport.

First of all, congratulations to the team for getting a point.
But we really want more than that from a home game if we're not going to be struggling all season.
Relish stepped down as Bath City manager earlier this month to oversee development at the club, according to the local paper, but who knows? Remember, that's about the time Blight gave Reg his backing.
