NEWPORT County, beset by injuries, suffered another blow yesterday with boss Dean Holdsworth confirming that midfielder Scott Rogers has left the club.
“Late on Saturday night we received the call that Bath City had evoked the clause within our agreement to recall Scott Rogers with immediate effect,” Holdsworth commented.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Scott for his contribution while at the club and to wish him well for the rest of the season.”
The Exiles have half a dozen players a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Bromley and Holdsworth may be forced to look for other short term options.
He had been hoping to agree a permanent stay for Rogers.
“We have several injuries at present and are currently assessing the situation ahead of this weekend’s game against Bromley,” Holdsworth told supporters via an Enews update.
