AARON RAMSEY believes he can win a Premier League title next season, writes Michael Pearlman.

The Arsenal midfielder, who has a shiny FA Cup winners’ medal safely stowed in his back pocket for the second time in two seasons, is still a player whose stock is rising and rising.

He’s recently been singled out for praise by Thierry Henry, while Spanish newspapers are linking the Caerphilly-born star with a £50 million switch to Camp Nou and Barcelona.

However, despite being at the centre of attention for his club in the past few weeks, Ramsey is now fully focused on Wales, having joined his teammates for training at the Vale of Glamorgan on Thursday. But that doesn’t mean Ramsey isn’t targeting the lot, from a trip to the Euros to winning the big one with the Gunners.

Ramsey, who was talking at an event with Vauxhall the Wales team sponsor, said: “I’m delighted with the way things have gone this season,” he said. “In the cup final thought it was a decent performance. I didn't score but still had an impact. The whole team played well, we created a load of opportunities and they didn't trouble our goalkeeper an awful lot. It couldn't have been any easier really.

“The medal is in my house, I haven’t brought it for Wales! It is in my office to add to my collection.

“It has been another successful season. Especially the second half; we showed everyone we're really capable on going on these great runs.

“If we can keep everyone fit and the group together for the whole of the season we'll challenge for the Premier League without a shadow of a doubt. Club like Arsenal should be challenging for silverware every year and we've managed to do that now the last couple of years. Hopefully we can go on to bigger and better things next season.”

Ramsey admits Arsenal have real financial strength to compete with the best.

“Every club brings in a new faces (in the summer) and a few will leave. But even with this group of players now I believe if everyone was fit in the season we would have a great opportunity of competing for the Premier League. This team has come on a lot over the last few years and if we can get off to a good start next season we will challenge.

“The club is in a good place where they can afford to buy and don’t have to sell. They don't have to let players go and we're building on this team rather than players leaving and you have to rebuild around those left. It is a nice feeling and means that the group can stick together. The understanding is there already so it can only get stronger.”
