AARON Ramsey says Wales will resist the temptation to play for a draw against Russia on Monday night, insisting they will be going all out for a win in Toulouse.

A point will be enough to qualify for the Euro 2016 knockout stages as long as England do not lose to Slovakia.

If England were beaten and Wales draw with Russia that would leave Chris Coleman’s men third behind the English on their head-to-head record.

They would then be hoping that their four points would be good enough to be one of the four best third-placed teams.

Wales could even progress in third with a defeat as long as England beat Slovakia.

But a win over Russia would guarantee a place in the last-16 and Ramsey says that is what they’ll be aiming for.

“We go out trying to win every game,” said the Arsenal star.

“We defend deep but try to counter-attack and win the game.”

Ramsey and teammates, who beat Slovakia 2-1 in their opening match, have spent the past few days trying to put Thursday’s last-gasp defeat to England out of their minds.

Gareth Bale’s free-kick opener just before the break was cancelled out by Jamie Vardy before fellow substitute Daniel Sturridge slotted home the winner for the Three Lions in stoppage-time.

Asked if it would be hard psychologically to overcome the blow of Sturridge’s late winner in Lens, Ramsey said: “No, not at all, we have worked our socks off in getting here to the finals.

“We have got off to a good start against Slovakia and we are still in the mix.

“Obviously we are very disappointed in the way it finished against England, but it is important now to get over that.

“That is tournament football – we will go again on Monday.”

The Russians, currently bottom of Group B, need a win to have any hope of qualifying after a draw with England and defeat against Slovakia.

They can finish second on goal difference or goals scored if they win and England lose on Monday.

Ramsey added: “We will just have to focus on ourselves and if we do that I am sure we will come through and get through."
