WALES have climbed to 10th in the Fifa world rankings after their Euro 2016 heroics and a strong start to their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Chris Coleman's side sit a spot above Spain and two ahead of England thanks to their comprehensive 4-0 win against Moldova in Cardiff.

Wales were just outside the top 10 despite their incredible run to the semi-finals of the Euros in France but now sit above Spain, England and Italy.

They are the fifth highest placed European side behind Belgium, Germany, Portugal and France while Argentina are ranked as leaders.

Wales were eighth when they beat Belgium when qualifying for the Euros and will try to set a new landmark when they travel to Austria next month in their bid to make it to Russia 2018. They also host Georgia.
