CAPTAIN Ashley Williams insists Wales believe they can put the disappointment of Saturday’s late setback against Serbia behind them and win every one of their remaining World Cup qualifiers.

Aleksandar Mitrovi?’s 86th-minute header cancelled out a first half Gareth Bale strike at the Cardiff City Stadium to make it three matches without a win for boss Chris Coleman and his men.

Wales are still unbeaten in Group D but losing leads to Austria, Georgia and the Serbians have left their hopes of securing the one automatic qualification place in the balance.

Williams and co will resume their quest to reach Russia 2018 next March when they travel to Dublin for a mouth-watering clash with group leaders Ireland.

And although frustrated at not getting over the line at the weekend, skipper Williams knows there is still plenty to play for.

“You always have to take the positives,” he said when reflecting on the 1-1 draw with Serbia. “We haven’t lost yet in the campaign and we feel we can go on and beat any team.

“I think it will be a close group right to the end so it’s not all doom and gloom, it was just a frustrating night.

“We’re a team that have come so far that we expect to win games, especially at home, but we didn’t.

“And the way it went at the end is frustrating, there’s no other way of putting it, and I’m sure all the fans and everyone else concerned feels exactly the same.”

On the Irish encounter and the rest of qualifying, he added: “All of the games are big now. They were before but the more it goes on they turn into must-win games.

“We’ve got to play Ireland twice, Austria at home, and they’re all going to be difficult, but we feel we’ve got enough in our dressing room to win all of them if that’s what we need to do.”

He continued: “We feel like we can win away, as long as we do our job and play the way that we’re supposed to, which I do feel we did on Saturday.

“It wasn’t the complete 90 minutes of brilliance, there were patches where we weren’t as good as we can be, but I thought we did what the gaffer asked us to do and what we wanted to do.

“And if we do that away from home on any other night, or at home, wherever it is, we feel that we can beat teams.”
