THE Football Association of Wales have confirmed that the national side will play Bosnia-Herzegovina in a friendly at Llanelli’s Parc y Scarlets on August 15.

The game, which kicks off at 7.45pm, will be Wales’ final preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.

Chris Coleman’s side take on Belgium on September 7, Serbia four days later, then face another double-header in October against Scotland and Croatia.

Wales have faced Bosnia-Herzegovina on one previous occasion when they drew 2-2 at the Millennium Stadium in 2003 thanks to goals from Robert Earnshaw and John Hartson.

The match will be the third full football international to be staged at the home of the Scarlets regional rugby side and Llanelli RFC.

Wales are unbeaten at Parc y Scarlets having won 1-0 against Estonia in 2009 and beaten Luxembourg 5-1 in 2010.

Coleman’s side have reached their highest position in the Fifa world rankings for almost 17 years.

Despite losing their last two matches to Costa Rica and Mexico, Wales have moved up three places to 38th place in the latest table.

That gives them their highest position since reaching 34th place in September 1995.

Under the late Gary Speed, Wales made the biggest yearly leap in Fifa rankings during 2011 amassing 330 points.

Speed’s Wales had won four of his last five games in charge of the national side.
