Gateshead v County postponed

12:31pm Monday 25th February 2013 in Newport County

NEWPORT County AFC's Blue Square Bet Premier clash at Gateshead, scheduled for 7.45pm tomorrow night, has been postponed.

County released a statement this lunchtime, which reads: "Following a midday pitch inspection, tomorrow night's match at The Gateshead International Stadium has been postponed due to a covering of snow and several areas of the pitch becoming waterlogged.

"We would like to apologise to all of our supporters who were intending to travel to the North of England for this fixture."

Just give us the three points and save Gateshead all the hassle of actually playing the game, as it seems they have no intention of doing so.

Gateshead are a complete shambles - the conference should have made them nominate an alternative venue ages ago. How many months has their pitch been unplayable now? 4?

well thats nice to know already on the ferry on my way over , who do i claim the money back from couldn't we just play it at rodders again at least i could gt a round trip out of it

15 games left and 10 of them are away from home.That's a pretty tall order to finish the season with, especialy as 2 home games will be against tough opposition. so County will need all the support we can give them. Encourage all your friends to go along and cheer them on. Just wish I could be there myself.

could be a blessing in disguise, no pressure of an expecting home crowd.

may take the pressure off and let county play their free flowing football.
