County games re-arranged

NEWPORT County's postponed clash with Macclesfield has been re-arranged for Thursday, April 11 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, despite County insisting they've yet to receive official word from the visitors, Gateshead have released the following statement on their website.

"A new date and venue has been secured for the ill-fated Newport County home fixture which has been postponed four times at three different grounds due to the weather.

"The Blue Square Bet Premier game will now take place at Boston United's York Street stadium next Thursday, 28th March at 7:45pm.

"York Street is an A grade stadium covered on all four sides that has been used for both Football League and Conference Premier games.

"Unfortunately fans will not be able to use the adjacent Boston United FC Social Club as there is a function on that day but refreshments will be available inside the ground.

"With the International Stadium pitch written off for the rest of the season due to drainage problems a nomadic Gateshead will have staged home games at eight different grounds in the 2012/13 season.

"Half of the games have been staged at Gateshead with Hartlepool United, Carlisle United, Middlesbrough, York City, Blyth Spartans and now Boston United coming to The Heed's aid.

"The eighth ground to host a Gateshead home game was Holker Street, Barrow, though that was when The Heed had to give up home advantage in the FA Trophy.

"The Tynesiders travel to Kent this weekend to face Dartford before hosting FA Trophy finalists Grimsby Town on Tuesday and Southport the following Saturday - both at Hartlepool United's Victoria Park stadium."

To have to travel all the way over to Boston is ridiculous for the County. Surely a ground to suit both teams could be found?

Is that Boston Lincs. or Boston USA. This Gateshead team are allowed to play any place THEY decide, it is so unbelivable you could not make it up, surely the Conference can sort this mega mess out.

Boston is nearer than both Gateshead and York mileage-wise.
Sorry to be a downer but it is the weather forecast for the Manchester area (incl Stockport!!) for this weekend that puts a question mark over Saturday's game. Heavy snow is forecast!!!! I just hope the forecasters are wrong.
What an incredible unexpected end to the season this is going to be.Hang on to your hats!!
