Lyme Regis Jazz, Blues and Real Ale Weekend has a new flavour.

This year the weekend starts on Friday, May 31 and boasts a line-up of local and international musicians, including Geno Washington and Ginger Baker.

Getting the weekend off to a swinging start is a long-standing festival favourite Gerry Brown and the Mission Hall Band, who will be performing at the Marine Theatre on Friday evening.

The popular jazz parade will take to the streets of Lyme at 11am with colourful outfits, umbrellas and the marching band.

Shortly afterwards there will be performances at the Marine Theatre by three jazz artists Julie Dunn (vocals), Neil Maya (saxophone) and Louise Parker (vocals) accompanied by Philip Clouts who is the curator of the Marine Theatre’s Jazz in the Bar series.

Saturday night brings 60s soul scene legend Geno Washington to the Marine Theatre.

Sunday afternoon will see a celebration of jazz and blues guitar from Harry Skinner and Dave Saunders, jazz guitarist Dave Marchant and local favourite Stompin’ Dave Allen. To round the proceedings off on the Sunday evening at the Marine Theatre is Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion. The legendary drummer from Cream will be playing with a quartet of up-and-coming jazz musicians.
