I HAVE read the article regarding the lodge development and would make the following observations: The comments made by Mr David Williamson of the FC, show a complete lack of understanding about their own application.

Mr Williamson wrongly states that the plans submitted are in accord with national and local policy. The fact is that CADD was formed because their plans do not accord with local or national policy.

In the actual planning application the FC is referred to as the ‘parent company’ which to most people would mean the ‘major shareholder’. In fact the FC holding is currently just 20 per cent and likely to reduce to 10 per cent in the coming years.

The major shareholder is actually Lloyds Development Capital, effectively Lloyds Bank.

Mr Williamson also speaks of sustainability. How sustainable does he think the lodge development is?

How sustainable is zero public transport to the lodge site? How sustainable is 250,000 kilometres per year by public vehicles on a single forestry track cutting straight through the forest?

Perhaps Mr Williamson should get his head around these sustainability issues for local people and provide his answers via your newspaper?
