County crash out of the FA Cup: Kidderminster 4 Newport 2

NEWPORT County's chronic case of Aggborough-phobia reared its ugly head again as the Exiles crashed out of the FA Cup 4-2.

The Exiles had the better of the early exchanges and missed some great chances to move ahead, but they were defensively all over the place and the hosts took full advantage.

A brace apiece for strikers Michael Gash and Callum Gittings blew the Exiles away and at 4-0 the hosts missed good chances to really humble County whose FA Cup dream is over for another season.

Justin Edinburgh's side did rally with Robbie Willmott scrambling home a consolation goal before a late header from Willmott who also rattled the crossbar threatened a grandstand finish, but the hosts deservedly head into the draw for round three.

yet again mr Pearlman brought out his crystal ball before the final whistle, useless. .countys performance was diabolicle, but we've got bigger games ahead starting on Tuesday, the league and then playoffs are more important.so heads up and put this very rare poor oerformance behind you..UP THE COUNTY!!

The Yak missed badly in last two games. Why haven't we had an update on what his problem is? And still glaringly week in midfield (a concern that hasn't been addressed since manager's arrival). Nevertheless not too perturbed regarding our league hopes so long as issues are addressed.

It was clear that a number of County players were unpresentable today. They were either not physically fit or were completely off form. Two defenders and a striker come to my mind. Yak was sorely missed at the back.

I hope i am wrong but I had the impression that our lads were more inclined to have their chances in the league rather than the Cup. They seemed so demotivated and careless on many occasions. The ball was always booted upfront rather haphazardly with a try-my-luck attitude.

Washington, our only dangerman, was very well marked; the lad rarely had any support up front from our midfielders. The quicker this match is forgotten the better.

A defeat that may give the squad a lesson and put us back on earth.

a case of the missing experienced centre back , and the disorganisation under pressure of the "youngsters" of HUGHES, WORLEY AND OSILAJA.

it needed a TONY JAMES , ISMAIL YAKUBU, or even BILLY JONES , why is billy always on the bench

KIDDERMINSTER took their chances, and county needed five shots on goal to get one.

anyway lets get the cliche out of the way "NOW WE CAN CONCENTRATE ON THE LEAGUE" ;-)

maybe next year

Pointless comment.
We were there last year remember?
Sounds like the lads were poor today.
Comment about mid field above is spot on.
Justin got to get into that gap between the front men and defence.
As above comment also what is the problem with the Yak?
Finally get it correct Argus its not that hard to put the correct score down?

Very pleased to see us out of a competition that we had no chance of competing with the top teams. Last season we had a bad run in cup competitions and then did great things at the end in the Conference, I think we could repeat last year's success and sneak up from the back at the end and gain promotion in the play-offs. Don't forget we could also still return to Wembley again if we beat Peterborough etc.in Johnstone's Paint Trophy!!

Not too disappointed that we are out of the cup. Won't shed a tear if we miss out on the JP trophy either. The more of these games we are involved in the more chances of injury and suspension. JE will give his team a rollicking on Monday and we will be better off for the push for promotion. So you cry babies can get over it, county have bigger fish to fry!

This match only proves that Kidderminster were and are the better side that should also have been promoted last seaon. On this showing I would not be surprised if they do it this season.
Having said that I am not too dismayed that we are out of this fading competition.
I also feel that County should concentrate on the league.
Remember Portsmouth won the FA Cup and look what happened to them!

having watched the highlights,KIDDIES FIRST was a sublime bit of individual skill, the SECOND was a good save by PIDGELEY but unfortunately fell to about one of five KIDDIE PLAYERS in the box, the THIRD was shocking you could have sailed the titanic between the gap between the last two central defenders way out of position, and the FOURTH a needless free kick given away and the wall didnt block what was again a sweet strike from GASH.

a day to forget, and a chance to concentrate on the league but there is a bit more PRESTIGE to the FA CUP than some of the contributors are dismissing above , it would have been a GREAT COMPETITION if we had drawn MAN UTD AT OLD TRAFFORD ;-)

I disagree about concentrating just on the league.
It is a total disgrace for a league two side to be 4-0 adrift in this competition.
JE never really publicly rips in to his team ---and that is ok by me ---but performances like this are unacceptable , especially to the fans who give up valuable time and money to support this inept performance.
There is great value both financially and for supporters to play in the FACup.
I for one would like to go to RP and see a Premier side .
I hate the comments that it does not really matter to out of the cup.
It matters to me.
I paid good money to see this crap.
