NEWPORT County AFC will host Coventry City in a pre-season friendly at Rodney Parade on Tuesday, July 29, kick-off 7.30pm.
A club statement reads: "This will be a fine test for Justin Edinburgh's men and will conclude a busy period at Rodney Parade with FC Carl Zeiss Jena coming to the County the previous Saturday.
"Coventry City have a fine tradition including winning the FA Cup in 1987 in one of the most romantic of recent cup finals with a 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
"Goalkeeper that day Steve Ogrizovic is now on the coaching staff and Sky Blues Manager Steven Pressley is sure to bring a strong squad to Newport."
Ticket prices and further details will be announced in due course." The Argus understands that a further friendly will be arranged for Saturday, August 2, ahead of the League Two season opener on August 9.
