MEMBERSHIP of the Newport County AFC Supporters Trust has passed the 600 mark as support continues to grow for their proposed takeover of the club.

In an update to fans posted online this afternoon, the Trust said: “Firstly, thank you for the continued support, it has been immense.

“A week after our momentous open meeting at the Riverfront the enthusiasm for a supporters owned club marches on.

“Trust membership has grown significantly and currently stands in excess of 603 members.

“We have truly gone worldwide with members from all parts of the globe joining. Welcome to those overseas members. Please keep those applications coming.

“There has been lots going on in the background to build towards the ambition of owning the club.

“Supporters Direct continue to be engaged and have produced a draft outline plan that we are intending to share early next week. This will lay out the timetable for the share offer.

“We will aim to update you all on progress each week.

“Please keep that support coming by joining the trust, buying your season tickets and attending the meet the manager event.”

There are less than 20 tickets remaining for the evening with Terry Butcher at the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran on Wednesday.

Tickets, which cost £20 and include a three course meal, are available from County commercial manager James Watts on 01633 670690 or james.watts@newport-county.co.uk.
