NEWPORT County’s Supporters Trust has been boosted with several more ex-players signing up, writes Michael Pearlman.

As revealed in Argus Sport, the likes of ex-fan favourite Mike Flynn, striker Craig Reid and former manager Dean Holdsworth have all pledged their support for the Trust.

However, they are being followed by several more big name stars from County’s past, including Kevin Moore, Mark Price and John Relish.

Price, who is the club's second all time appearance holder, a member of the Hall of Fame and a member of the ex players association, was club captain and is actively recruiting friends etc to join the trust.

Relish played for the old club in the 80s and was the first ever manager of the reformed Newport County AFC.

Boss Terry Butcher has confirmed he’s looking forward to meeting with County’s new board.

“I have not met with the new board yet, there was a meeting scheduled but that got cancelled,” he said.

“I have had some contact with texts and messages. That time (to speak with them) will come but we are focusing on getting players back in the squad.

“But anything that can take the club forward is a positive for me.”
