THE world’s best selling sports game is back with Newport County once again a featured side.

Fifa 16, which is released in the UK on September 22, the latest in the ever-popular Fifa series, once again features the Exiles, as it does all 92 Football League clubs.

The Exiles have an average player rating this season of 54 out of 100, one of the worst in League Two, though County fans are almost certain to have cause for complaint at some ratings, forever controversial among supporters.

As a franchise, the FIFA video game series has taken football gaming to new heights with brilliant graphics, the chance to become a virtual pro, and an extensive world-wide online interplay service.

However, for Exiles fans, the only question is how do your boys feature?

Argus Sport brings you the lowdown Who is rated top?

The honour of being named Newport County’s best player on Fifa this year is a shared one, though ironically Exiles fans currently have no context to measure whether the right decision has been made, with Newport’s top two being Seth Nana Twumasi and Matt Taylor, the latter, of course, yet to play a competitive minute for the Exiles.

Both Twumasi and Taylor are given a rating of 62 out of 100.

Hot on their heels is another outfield player, striker Lenell John-Lewis, who rates at 61, as does County goalkeeper Joe Day and defender Danny Holmes, completing Newport’s top five.

Generally, there are always contentious markings – at Tottenham, Emmanuel Adebayor rates higher than Harry Kane – but Newport fans will presumably be incredulous to see skipper Mark Byrne ranked as a 58 out of 100, the same mark afforded to Yan Klukowski, Scott Barrow and Rhys Taylor, ranking him lower than the likes of Medy Elito and Alex Rodman.

The full list of County rankings, with their U18 players given really short shrift (and Tom Owen-Evans being listed as a striker), can be found below.

Not a single Newport County player is listed among the best in League Two, where Leyton Orient duo Dean Cox and Alan Dunne tie with Portsmouth’s Gary Roberts as the top rated players on 68.

The best player in the game is Lionel Messi on 94, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo on 93 and Luis Suarez on 90.

Wales’ highest rated player is Gareth Bale, who earns a mark of 87. However, controversially, that means the world’s most expensive player only rates 23rd overall in terms of the best players on the game.

Reading’s Chris Gunter, from Newport, is a 71 and is rated as the Royals’ top defender.

Ex-County midfielder Lee Evans earns 64 for Bradford City, while Newport’s James Collins is comfortable 75 for West Ham United.

Behind Bale, Wales’ top rated players are Aaron Ramsey, 84, Ashley Williams, 80, Joe Allen, 77, and Ben Davies, 76. Newport’s MK Dons striker Simon Church is a lowly 65.
