THE Newport County AFC Supporters Trust has issued its latest weekly update, announcing the launch of the Benefits and Rewards Scheme next week and a public meeting for the end of the month, writes Andrew Penman.

The launch of the Trust’s Benefits and Rewards Scheme will be held on Thursday, November 12, at 7.30pm in the Bisley Suite at Rodney Parade.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the management team at the event with John Sheridan, Warren Feeney and Michael Flynn being available to answer any questions.

The event is free and the bar will be open.

The Trust statement adds: “We have mentioned previously our intention to hold an open meeting for members.

“We are putting plans in place for this to happen at the end of the month.

“It is likely to be Friday, November 27. We will update as soon as we have firmed up the plans.”

The news follows last week’s meeting at Rodney Parade, which outlined an amended constitution that needed to be passed.

Members were able to vote online, by proxy and then in person at the meeting held last Friday in the Bisley Suite.

The material used at the meeting and the minutes can now be found on the official club website (newport-county.co.uk) and the Trust website (ncafctrust.org).

The motion of moving to the amended constitution was passed, marking an important part of the procedural changes required.

The Trust statement reads: “We are working behind the scenes to prepare the share certificates and will make an announcement on their issue soon. “The submission was sent to the Football League this week as planned.

“We have had a few questions and will be responding to those as soon as possible. We intend to share the highlights of the submission when we have the first of our open meetings later this month.”

The statement continues: “Well done to the DSA, who held a successful Halloween party that was enjoyed by all who attended. Players joined the party, which made it a great occasion. “Likewise to the Smile Council, who recently handed over a cheque for £1,000 to the junior academy. Great effort and much appreciated.

“Thank you for the continued support and good luck to the team on Sunday.”
