IF YOU want me to predict who will stay up and who will go down I won’t; I’m afraid I can’t – it’s way too close to call.

But one thing I can be sure of is that I want Michael Flynn to take over the County manager’s job on a permanent basis.

Flynn’s turnaround has been absolutely sensational and, regardless of what happens between now and May 6, he has done an incredible job and deserves to take control on a permanent basis.

He’s got this team battling harder than I have seen in an awful long time.

Context does come into it a lot, but a manager who can rally a team for a relegation fight is a huge bonus.

County are winning the balls in the air, forcing interceptions and just playing with much more desire than we’ve seen since joining the Football League.

In County’s favour the end of the season is a different time to many others; as it is for Hartlepool and Cheltenham it’s a desperate and hugely important time.

For Accrington Stanley and Notts County, who visit Rodney Parade soon, the results mean very little. They’re mid-table, only hoping to better their league positions; while rewarding their away following.

It could work out Plymouth need a win to secure their place in League One on Easter Monday, and County face the stiff task of delaying a promotion party. Something that is a horrendously big ask!

Carlisle have endured an embarrassing turn of form since the turn of the calendar year, and their final home game of the season will be big in their bid to cling on to a play-off position.

But first it’s Yeovil, a team who could leave Rodney Parade with any sort of emotion. A victory will be a sigh of relief as they leave the relegation battle behind, while a defeat puts them right in the mire.

It’s simple for County – more of the same is what’s required.

There is no room for error, it’s about winning games and grinding out results.

I said last week about needing four more wins, and now that turns to three.

Yeovil have won only one league game since November, and Accrington and Notts County have only pride to play for.

What an interesting end to the season we have in prospect now.
