NEWPORT County star Sam Foley has been named Blue Square South player of the month for his fantastic form in January.

The forward was rewarded for his three goals in as many games in the league last month, including the winners against Worcester City on New Year's Day and at Bromley on Saturday.

Meanwhile, speculation linking Exiles boss Dean Holdsworth with the managerial post at Championship strugglers Peterborough United was ended when the Posh appointed Jim Gannon last night.
