Wrexham 2 County 0

NEWPORT County AFC's unbeaten start to the season is over after they went down to a 2-0 defeat against Welsh rivals Wrexham.

Outstanding Polish winger Adrain Cieslewicz gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half after Jefferson Louis had missed two decent chances for County.

Exiles goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley made a string of fantastic saves to keep his side in the match but Wrexham substitute Danny Wright sealed the win with a well taken header in the last 10 minutes.

Manager Justin Edinburgh will be looking for a reaction from his side when they travel to Dartford on Tuesday night.

This was a toughie but we know we won't win them all and there will be times when things don't go as planned but we are still up there and in with a fight. two extra top players to step in when there are injuries would be a help. I'm confident that we can be in the top 5 at the end of the season. So come on County you can do it.

It's possible that defeat at Wrexham could be a good thing as the pressure to retain an unbeaten status has been known to have an adverse effect on teams later in the season.
All things considered it's an excellent start to the season.
