NEWPORT County U18s came out on top in the first round of the FAW Youth Cup against Gwent rivals Aberbargoed Buds.
In a generally one-sided match at Spytty Park on Wednesday night, the County Academy prospects triumphed 5-0 with goals from Ben Brooks (3), Tre Marrett and Lewis Jones.
On Saturday the U18s teams are away to Bristol Rovers in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup (kick-off 10.30am) and at home to New College Academy in the South West Counties Youth League (kick-off 10.30am).
