A TEAM of gymnasts representing the Crumlin-based Valleys Gymnastics Academy took to the floor at the South Central Wales region Floor and Vault Championships, held in Bridgend, and came away with a host of medals and titles.
Competing in the 8-11 club category Amy Oliver took gold overall, gold on vault and gold on floor. Teammate Leah Marie Amphlett took placings in both floor and vault and took bronze overall and Seren Thomas also placed on both pieces and took 4th overall. Seren Burgwin also placed 5th on vault. The team of Amy, Seren, Seren, Leah Marie and Mollie Lloyd were crowned team champions. Meanwhile, in the 8-11 years regional event, Ellie Davies took gold on vault, silver on floor and gold overall, while Katelyn King took gold on floor, silver on vault and silver overall.
In the 12+ club category the team of Elise Edwards, Jazmine Martin, Maddison Hamer and Abbigail Craig took bronze and Elise won a ribbon for her floor routine. In the 12+ regional category, Beth Wheeler took silver on floor, silver on vault and placed 3rd overall.
