USK Valley Trampoline Club entered some promising youngsters into the Welsh Schools Trampolining Championships at Pontypool Active Living Centre.

Amy-Rose Shutt, in the Under 11 Section, represented her school Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd and won a silver medal. It was a brilliant result considering there were large groups of competitors from all over Wales taking part.

Paige Mutlow and Lois Gould (under 14s) also represented their school, West Monmouth, both achieving a silver medal in different classes.

This competition also acts as a qualifier for the British Semi Finals (Zonals), which will be held in January. Lois and Amy-Rose will again represent their schools. Success there would mean a place in the British National Schools Finals.

There were many other excellent placings with notable performances, particlarly in the under 14s where the club also gained a reserve with Rebecca Skinner, of Duffryn High School, and a 5th with Leah Hussey, of Caldicot School. Olivia Holloway was 4th in the under 11 beginners and Maezy Walmsley was 5th in the intermediates for Abersychan School.

Many others made the top 10 of their groups. Bethan Duckett, Ella Travers, Ffion Rixon, Reece Williams and Mackenzie Harris were high up in the placings.
