Ferrer too good for Granollers

Sixth seed David Ferrer was far too good for fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers as he cruised into the quarter-finals of the French Open for the third time in his career.

History was not on Granollers' side, the 20th seed having lost all three of his previous meetings with Ferrer in straight sets, and it never looked like being any different as the 30-year-old came through 6-3 6-2 6-0.

Ferrer has looked in supreme form this tournament and has lost only 25 games in four matches, and never more than four in any set.

The Spaniard will be looking to make the semi-finals at Roland Garros for the first time when he faces either Andy Murray or Richard Gasquet in the last eight on Wednesday.
