COACHING COURSES Please find enclosed a list of Coach Education Courses in Newport. Fill in and return to James - FDO.

Don't forget that all personnel at your club must have these qualifications to run football sides. If you are in doubt please contact James or myself.

Also please don't forget that there is a Club Accreditation Workshop on 11 October 2007. This is mandatory.

GIRLS FOOTBALL If any teams have girls playing for them could you please ensure that these girls are also training and playing with the Newport Girls League.

We are not stopping them playing with the boys at present but they must also show a commitment to the girls league. Contact me if you wish to know the closest club for them to contact.

I have passed this information on in a previous newsletter but is seems that most clubs out there have ignored this. It is now in writing from Gwent County that the girls must play in girls teams.

We are trying to be as flexible as we can with this, but clubs will be fined if they do not adhere to our request.

YELLOW JERSEY The above is up and running with fixtures, league tables and newsletters published on there.

INSURANCE Please find enclosed a copy of the insurance now taken out by the FAW.

REGISTRATIONS Any new registration with this league must be accompanied by proof of age. Either birth certificate, passport etc.

WELFARE OFFICERS Could you please send me a list of persons together with their address telephone number and which club they represent, that need to attend the CRB Advice Sessions. This session then enables the Welfare Officers at your club to apply for, check and send off CRB checks within your club. List needed by 5 October 2007.

MATCH REPORTS You would have noticed a line has been removed in the mini match report books so that teams cannot enter scores. Unfortunately the whole line was taken out not showing the away team. Can you all please make sure that you add the away side club name when filling in your match reports. Could you also please make sure that all match reports are sent to the relevant fixture secretaries in one envelope. This has been requested previously and most of you are complying with this, but there are still a few odd clubs sending them separate.

RESULTS After reading through the match reports over the past few weeks I cannot believe some of the goals that are being scored in games. 20 - 0 and 26 - 0 were just some of the results that I came across.

I really cannot see the point of this. It is totally demoralising to the opponents and is without a doubt not teaching either side anything. For goodness sake please use a bit of common sense; if your team is winning by over 10 goals don't you think you should swap around the players. E.g. put the keeper as a striker, striker as a keeper, defender as attackers. You will be surprised at how much fun they will have.

It has been done many times before. You have all attended the Team Leaders Course and some of you are UEFA C & B Licence holders and I know for a fact that fair play is something mentioned on these courses over and over again.

AFFILIATION I would just like to bring to your attention rule 3 of the Gwent County Handbook. You are not allowed at any time to play against teams that are not affiliated.

This also means when you hold tournaments you are not allowed to ask clubs or private ventures to enter teams that are not affiliated.

CUP GAMES Please find enclosed the draw for the NDYJFL cup. Any teams who have Gwent County Tesco Cup games on a Saturday may apply for a postponement but must send this in writing as per 23 of the Gwent County Handbook.

Secretaries old and new, please ensure that a copy of this newsletter is given to all your mangers and coaches.

PLEASE NOTE MY NEW LAND LINE NUMBER 253806 AND MY NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS CHRISTINE.WILLIAMS1@SKY.COM
