GERWYN Price teams up with former Lakeside champion Mark Webster tonight as Wales begin their campaign at the Betway World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt, Germany.

Wales are one of 32 nations taking part in the £250,000 event, which got underway yesterday with bookies’ favourites the Netherlands in action.

First up for Markham’s Price and Denbigh’s Webster, a runner-up alongside Barrie Bates six years ago, is a tricky tie against 2013 semi-finalists Finland.

Win that and Wales meet either Greece or Canada in round two – four victories in all will see them through to the final.

“Over the past 12 months, this has probably been my main target,” said former Cross Keys hooker Price.

“Mark’s got experience and he’s the number one and captain of Wales, and I’m sure I’ll work pretty well with him.

“I’m just looking forward to getting out there, putting the Welsh shirt on and seeing what happens.

“Mark and myself have been playing well and I've looked at the way the draw can work out and I think we can get to the semi-finals and possibly play England – but there's going to be some tough games leading up to that.”
