DARREN Morgan bowed out of the Kaspersky Riga Masters in Latvia following a comprehensive defeat by former world champion Neil Robertson.
Morgan, 50, who received an invitation to the first ranking event of the new season after his shock European Open victory, lost 5-0 in his semi-final this afternoon.
The Newbridge veteran, a former Crucible semi-finalist and world amateur champion, had beaten Bradley Jones, Adam Stefanow, Zhao Xintong and Ken Doherty before this morning's last-eight triumph over Xiao Guodong.
But he couldn't make it all the way to tonight's final, with Australian Robertson compiling two centuries on his way to a whitewash victory.
Cwm's Mark Williams was also hoping to make the final after seeing off Mark Davis, Cwmbran's Jak Jones, Ali Carter and John Astley to reach the last four.
However, having gone 4-3 up against Michael Holt, the two-time former world champion lost the last two frames.
