GWENT’S Mark Williams and Welsh teammate Ryan Day have kept up their 100 per cent record at the Snooker World Cup with victories over Malaysia and Finland.

Wales are top of the Group A table in China with 13 points having won 13 frames and lost just two so far.

On day one in Wuxi two-time world champion Williams and Pontycymer potter Day beat Norway’s Kurt Maflin and Christopher Watts 5-0.

In their second match the Welsh duo edged past Malaysia’s Thor Chuan Leong and Moh Keen Ho 3-2.

But they were back to their best today with a 5-0 thumping of Finland’s Robin Hull and Heikki Niva.

Cwm star Williams and Day are on course to qualify for the weekend’s quarter-finals.

They are two points clear of defending champions China B, who they play tomorrow, and four ahead of Brazil, who they face on Friday.

The top two in each group go through to the last eight on Saturday with the semi-finals and final being played on Sunday.
