ABERTILLERY’S Jack Marshman is off to Brazil this autumn for his next outing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship - and he will go there having signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC.

Marshman, the first Welshman to sign a UFC contract, has been added to the Fight Night 119 show in Sao Paulo on Saturday, October 28.

Home favourite Antonio Carlos Junior will be the former soldier’s opponent in a middleweight bout, eight months after Marshman lost to another Brazilian, Thiago Santos.

Carlos Junior has won his last three contests, with victories over Eric Spicely, Marvin Vettori and Leonardo Augusto Guimaraes.

The 27-year-old made his UFC debut in May 2014 and has fought a total of eight times under the organisation’s banner.

Marshman won his first UFC fight against Magnus Cedenblad last November before being stopped by Santos in Canada in February.

However, the Richard Shore-trained fighter bounced back in July when beating Candian Ryan Janes in Glasgow.

And there was good news for Marshman this week as he signed a four-fight deal with the UFC.
