GWENT darts stars Nick Kenny and Chris Harris will get their BDO World Championships campaigns under way against Dutch 10th seed Willem Mandigers and Turkey’s Umit Uygonsozlu respectively.
Ebbw Vale’s Kenny hopes to go beyond the first round at the 2018 event after losing to eventual champion Glen Durrant on his tournament debut earlier this year.
He faces Mandigers in the second match on the opening day of the championships, which start at 1pm on Saturday, January 6.
Meanwhile, debutant Harris, from Gilwern, who came through qualifying in Bridlington, makes his worlds bow against Uygonsozlu the following afternoon.
Kenny’s fellow Welsh international takes on Uygonsozlu, the first player to represent Turkey at the tournament, in a preliminary round encounter.
The winner will then meet Cardiff’s 12th seed Dean Reynolds in the first round proper on the evening of Monday, January 8.
Wayne Warren, Jim Williams, Martin Phillips and Rhian Griffiths also go for Wales in the men’s and women’s events.
