GWENT bowls star Roger Jones beat Guernsey’s Matt Le Ber to claim the Men's British Isles Championship Finals singles title in Northern Ireland at the weekend.

Jones beat Le Ber 21-12 in the final at Belmont Bowls Club in Belfast after overcoming England’s Sam Tolchard in the quarter-finals and Scotland’s Wayne Hogg in the semis.

Ireland won the Men's Home International Series team event with Wales losing all three of their matches. The Welsh team lost 109-96 to Ireland, 113-105 to England and 136-117 to Scotland.
