THE Ospreys may have got their Guinness Pro12 campaign off to a flying start but Wales ace Dan Biggar says they need to up their game to avoid a Rodney Parade "stuffing" on Friday night.

The Liberty Stadium side started their season with a 44-13 hammering of Treviso while Newport Gwent Dragons lost 16-11 after an error-strewn display at Connacht.

But Biggar, the Pro12 player of 2013/14, believes that a much better display will be needed if the visitors are to triumph in the partisan Rodney Parade atmosphere.

The Dragons fans have previously sledged the 24-year-old Wales fly-half, although he was agonisingly close to having the last laugh in January 2012 when his last-gasp drop goal smacked against the right post in a 21-20 defeat.

"It will be hugely different at Rodney Parade and that's something that some of the boys may not have experienced," said the Pro12 player of 2013/14.

"It's not an easy place to go, it's difficult surroundings and the crowd get on top of you.

"You have to make sure you are on the money from minute one or otherwise you'll get a real stuffing up there. We certainly need to improve, be a lot more accurate."

The Ospreys may have finished as Wales' Leading region in five of the last six seasons but they believe their hosts will be favourites on Friday.

The underdogs tag is one that the Dragons have traditionally relished, although director of rugby Lyn Jones is attempting to shake off that mindset.

And after a summer that saw the departure of Lions stars Adam Jones, Richard Hibbard, Ian Evans and Ryan Jones, many will be expecting the Ospreys to come a cropper.

"It's a place where stronger Ospreys sides have come unstuck, so we are probably going there as underdogs," said assistant coach Gruff Rees. "The Dragons are canny operators who have had a strong summer and recruited well.

"I watched them up in Eugene Cross Park against Northampton the other week and was really impressed.

"They have some young talent to complement some of their old fellas, so it's an exciting mix."
