NEWPORT Gwent Dragons suffered a 45-25 RaboDirect Pro12 loss to Leinster in Dublin this evening.

The Dragons trailed 26-13 at half-time and it looked grim when Fionn Carr scored the hosts’ fourth try with half an hour left.

However, the visitors struck back with wing Tom Prydie and full-back Dan Evans adding to Steffan Jones’ first half interception try.

They piled on the pressure in a bid to claim their own four-try bonus point but it was the European champions that struck a final blow when centre Brendan Macken picked off a pass to race over from 70 metres.

The Dragons, who won their opening fixture against Zebre, will attempt to get back to winning ways when they host Cardiff Blues next Saturday.
