It’s a family affair at Guiseley Theatre, where a production of Guys And Dolls is on next week.

Guiseley Amateurs’ lively production features three generations of one family; Midge Booth, Janet Magson and Chloe and Will Thompson.

Midge, who is mum to Janet and grandmother to Chloe and Will, made her first appearance for the society in Me and My Girl in 1975.

She later moved backstage to manage props, from 1984 to 2005, and was also a member of the executive committee. Midge is one of the few society members with a 35-year service award, and for this production she is helping with costumes and make-up. Midge’s daughter Janet joined GAOS in 1983, aged 12, as ‘call-boy’ for The Birdseller.

She returned in 2007 to chaperone the children in When the Lights Come on Again then took over the make-up team in 2009 for The Likes of Us. She is the current ticket secretary. Chloe Thompson, 16, is studying for A levels at Guiseley High School and attends Peace Dance Academy in Yeadon. She joined GAOS in 2007 and took a lead role in The Likes of Us in 2009.

Younger brother Will, 14, is also at Guiseley High School and his first GAOS appearance was in When The Lights Go On Again in 2007. He works with the props team.
