BEDWAS rallied for a bonus point in their Principality Premiership clash at Aberavon but they paid the price for a sluggish start.
The Bridge Field side had recorded a superb win at Carmarthen Quins on opening weekend but they gave themselves too much to do at the Talbot Athletic Ground.
The Wizards led 24-8 at half-time thanks to tries by wing Stefan Andrews, scrum-half David Pritchard and Rowan Jenkins with wing George Gasson crossing for the visitors.
His Dragons academy teammate Connor Edwards went over after the break with fly-half Richard Powell converting the centre’s effort to make it 24-16.
Bedwas, aided by their replacements adding urgency, pushed for a leveller but had to settle for the losing bonus point, which is awarded for being eight points behind under the new laws being trialled in the Premiership.
