GREG Woods will leave Cross Keys in the New Year with Morgan Stoddart replacing him as head coach and former Wales and Lions lock Ian Evans joining the management team at Pandy Park.
Former hooker Woods, 37, was at the helm when Keys enjoyed arguably the finest season in their history, winning the Swalec Cup in 2012 and making it to the final of the British and Irish Cup.
He has decided to move on for personal reasons and a new challenge.
Woods will stay with the club until after their Principality Premiership clash with Merthyr on December 30 and WRU National Cup encounter with Ponty on January 6.
Keys have promoted former Wales full-back Stoddart to head coach, working alongside backs coach Aled James, director of rugby Jonathan Westood and team manager Mark Prangell.
They will be joined by former lock Evans, who was forced to retire because of a knee injury in April.
The 33-year-old, who won 33 caps and toured Australia with the Lions in 2013, has been cutting his coaching teeth with Treorchy and will now step up to the Premiership.
“This announcement is touched with sadness but also excitement with our new coach on board,” read a Keys club statement.
“Ian brings a huge amount of experience and we are all looking forward to him joining the Keys family in early January.”
