SOUTH Wales Rugby League Conference champions Torfaen Tigers will travel to 2013 Harry Jepson Trophy, London Premier League and Cup treble winners South-West London Chargers in the First Round of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup.
The game will be played on the weekend of February 1st/2nd.
It is Torfaen’s debut in the Challenge Cup in what will be the 61st tie in the competition to feature a Welsh side.
North Wales Crusaders and South Wales Scorpions enter the competition in the Third Round with Super League sides starting in the Fourth.
Torfaen Tigers chairman Rob Davies said: “We knew there'd be no easy games. Obviously being a young club themselves no Welsh side has played them before but their two predecessors Storm and Sharks were strong outfits.
“Chargers are reigning Harry Jepson Trophy champions so to travel to them is going to be tough but the boys have been working hard in the gym over Christmas and are all chomping at the bit to get into it.
"All in all I think everyone is excited and nervous in equal measures.”
