YOU can watch Newport entertain Abercarn for free on Wednesday night (7.15pm) at Rodney Parade in a pre-season friendly.
The Principality Premiership side and last season's Swalec National League Division 3 East B champions are no strangers to each other.
Newport first played Abercarn (who were founded back in 1870/1) in 1884 when they won by six goals and six tries to 0 in the South Wales Challenge Cup.
The two last played at Rodney Parade in 1978-9 when the score was a little closer, the Black and Ambers winning a tough match 13-0 in Schweppes Welsh Cup. Wing Ken Davies scored the only try with David Barry kicking three penalties.
Recently Doug Steer, who joined Newport from Abercarn in 1944, was awarded a President's Cap for playing in a Wales Victory International, which was received by his sons Alan and David at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
