NEWPORT have bolstered their midfield with a third centre signing of the summer after snapping up Tom Pascoe.

The 23-year-old from Mountain Ash was a member of the Cardiff Blues academy and played in the Principality Premiership for both the Blue and Blacks and Pontypridd.

He represented Wales through the age-grade levels and was a member of the 2013 team that made it to the final of the Junior World Championship, backing up the midfield partnership of Newport Gwent Dragons' Jack Dixon and the Scarlets' Steff Evans.

Pascoe heads to Rodney Parade from a spell playing club rugby in Australia with Sydney's Balmain and head coach Craig Warlow believes he will add more firepower behind following the earlier signings of centres Tom Riley and Chay Smith.

"Tom is a very talented footballer that has spent the last year or so broadening his rugby experience Down Under," said Warlow.

"We have been chasing Tom for over a year and his experience and ability will complement our already exciting three-quarter line."
