ED Jackson says Newport Gwent Dragons will suffer a Munster mauling on Saturday if they repeat last week's Rodney Parade horror show.

The Dragons won in the Guinness Pro12 for the first time since January but there were no smiles on faces after their 11-6 success against Zebre last Friday.

Kingsley Jones' side, who had the lowest try count in the Pro12 last season, crossed for just one try through wing Pat Howard in the first quarter.

They were too lateral, made a catalogue of handling errors and were under pressure at the set piece.

"We will take the win but we said in the changing room afterwards that there is so much to work on in our game, we have got so much to improve on," said number eight Jackson, who was man of the match after being one of the few players to provide some go-forward.

"It's not as if that is the best that we can do, there is a lot of room for improvement. That's exciting but we just need to knuckle down to put the errors in our game right because now we come up against a team in Munster who will punish them a lot harder.

"I've got all the faith that against a big team at Rodney Parade, the performance will be there but we need to put certain things right in our game or we just won't come away with the win.

"We were on the wrong side of so many results last season by two or three points because of the sorts of mistakes we made against Zebre. Hopefully if we can clean that up then we can be the right side of results."

"We have to be hard on ourselves, the only way we will improve is by being honest and working on it," Jackson continued.

"We can't ignore poor set piece and unforced errors in wide channels, stuff that is unacceptable at this level."

They now face a Munster side (kick-off 5.15pm) who are licking their wounds after suffering a 24-23 defeat to Cardiff Blues in Cork.

The Irish province, who beat the Scarlets in Llanelli on opening weekend, were one of the Dragons' four Pro12 victims last season when beaten 22-6 at Rodney Parade.

"It's nice to have two home games on the bounce," said Jackson. "We only won four games last season, we've won one and hopefully it will be two against Munster and we will be well on our way!

"Munster lost at home which isn't ideal because they will be on the rebound, but we always have tough games against them and they are a great side.

"We have confidence that we can turn around the performance and get stuck into them. We had a great win against them last year and want to give the fans a better standard of rugby, because the Zebre game was unacceptable."
