CROSS Keys will head to Swansea today (kick-off 2.30pm) looking to extend their seven-match winning run against the St Helen’s outfit.

You have to go all the way back to October 8, 2011 to find the last time Keys suffered defeat at the hands of the All Whites.

Since that 27-10 success for the club from Wales’ second city it has been total Keys domination in the fixture.

The points difference in the two fixtures last season was a comprehensive 69-19 in Keys’ favour, with Swansea being shut out completely at St Helen’s 12 months ago.

However, on current form, today’s showdown should be a lot closer than matches have been in the past.

Swansea beat Aberavon at the Talbot Athletic Ground last weekend to secure back-to-back Premiership triumphs for the first time this term.

Their 19-7 success against the Wizards had followed a 22-8 defeat of Bargoed on home soil seven days earlier.

They finished one from bottom in the western conference but sit seventh in the current standings after the 16 clubs came together at the end of December.

Meanwhile, Keys were thwarted by the wet weather last weekend as their Pandy Park clash with Bridgend bit the dust.

Lying three points and as many places behind the All Whites, Keys are now on a roll with three successive victories.

The action resumes down in the Championship today with leaders Pontypool out to extend their 17-point cushion at Beddau.

The game comes two weeks before Pooler play in front of the television cameras again when they venture to the Wern in Merthyr for a big National Cup quarter-final against the Ironmen.

Elsewhere, fifth-placed Newbridge have home advantage when they take on struggling Skewen.
