FIJI have selected Leicester speedster Vereniki Goneva at outside centre for Saturday's Test against Wales at the Millennium Stadium, writes Chris Kirwan.

Goneva, who usually stars on the wing for the Tigers, is one of five changes to the XV that lost their autumn opener against France 40-15 after being unable to travel to Marseille because of visa issues.

Ospreys centre Josh Matavesi comes in at fly-half, outside Glasgow livewire Niko Matawalu, because Crusaders powerhouse Nemani Nadolo is Goneva's midfield partner.

Asaeli Tikoirotuma and Waisae Nayacalevu, of Harlequins and Stade Francais respectively, are on the wings while the retained pack includes former Gloucester flanker Akapusi Qera as captain.

"I am very happy with the squad I have been able to name for this match," said Fiji coach John McKee. "The return of Goneva to the team and Nadolo to the starting line-up adds strength and experience to our backline."

"Josh Matavesi, who unfortunately was unavailable for the France match due to injury, will be looking to make his mark in the playmaker position in this important match less than 12 months from when these two teams will meet at the same venue at the 2015 Rugby World Cup."
