TOMAS Francis will miss Wales’ Six Nations finale with Italy after being given an eight-week ban for making contact with the eye of England’s Dan Cole.
The tighthead appeared before a disciplinary committee in London after being cited for the incident in the closing stages of the defeat at Twickenham and it was found that the offence was worthy of a red card. At the time the TMO deemed it only merited a penalty.
The suspension means that Francis will miss Saturday’s Test against the Azzurri at Principality Stadium and will also have to sit out Exeter’s Champions Cup quarter-final against Wasps.
Aaron Jarvis will be Samson Lee's back-up for the weekend encounter with Italy.
