The Newport Wasps gained a bonus point under the new league scoring system when they ran the Berwick Bandits to a 45-45 draw at Shielfield Park Stadium on the Scottish Borders on Saturday evening.

Frustratingly the Wasps were 44 -40 ahead going into the 15th and final heat with Jordan Frampton unbeaten by an opponent at that juncture. The Bandits pulled off a 5 -1 heat win to salvage a draw. They are awarded one point but the Wasps are awarded two.

An encouraging performance.
