Catherine Zeta-Jones joined mourners at the funeral of her namesake grandmother.
Zeta Jones, from whom the Hollywood star took her stage name, died in Swansea, south Wales, at the age of 91 last week. She was the mother of Catherine's father Dai.
Zeta-Jones, 38, joined family members at her grandmother's home in the Ravenhill area of Swansea before making her way to St Peter's Church in nearby Cockett for the 11.30am funeral service.
The actress, wearing mourning dress and dark glasses, travelled in a car behind the hearse to the hillside church. Her husband, actor Michael Douglas, and her children Dylan and Carys were not with her.
Catherine read Daffodils by William Wordsworth, her grandmother's favourite poem, during the half-hour service.
The star, wearing a black dress with a black lace cardigan, looked upset as she left the church with her parents after the funeral to make her way to Swansea Crematorium.
Her grandmother's coffin was surrounded by white floral tributes, including one simply reading "Zeta", in the hearse.
Speaking after the funeral, a female mourner who did not wish to be named said: "It was a lovely, warm family service for an old lady who was obviously much loved."
The service was led by the Reverend Mark Williams, and included Welsh hymn Calon Lan and There is a Green Hill Far Away. A wake at Morriston Golf Club was to take place after the cremation.
A message from Mrs Jones' family on the order of service read: "The family wish to express their sincere thanks for all the kindness and sympathy extended to them in their bereavement and also to all who attended the funeral."
