Two face court over farm 'burglary'
Two men are due in court charged with burglary after an incident at a remote farm in which shots were fired.
Andy Ferrie, 35, and his wife Tracey, 43, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the alleged break-in, after which Mr Ferrie told police he had shot two of four intruders.
Mr Ferrie fired the legally owned shotgun when he and his wife were disturbed at their isolated farm in the Welby area of Leicestershire, near Melton Mowbray, in the early hours of Sunday.
They were bailed by police on Tuesday, pending further inquiries.
Two Leicester men, aged 27 and 33, were charged with burglary by Leicestershire Police and have been remanded in custody to appear at Loughborough Magistrates' Court.
Two other men, who were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, have been bailed pending further inquiries.
